The choice of our programmes is guided by the priority actions of Dünya Doktorları. Analysing social context, legal framework and difficulties encountered by vulnerable populations allow us to consider interventions.
Led by a programme coordinator and a medical advisor, the mission lasts for approximately three weeks and is funded by Dünya Doktorları's own funds.
Modalities of intervention are defined. They are based on different funding scenarios for different components of the programmes. We choose which institutional partners and civil society organisations we will work with.
It is the beginning of activities. It lasts 6 to 12 months depending on how difficult it is to be registered with local authorities. The programme coordination team settle in the country of intervention, obtain equipment and recruit staff.
The development programmes of Dünya Doktorları last 3 to 5 years on average. Alongside providing care and leading training , awareness-raising or advocacy activities, results are monitered and fundraising continues.
At the end of a programme, depending on the situation, Dünya Doktorları rolls out the activities in other regions or transfers them to health authorities and local partners. A capitalisation study enables us to learn from the programmes and to further improve the efficacy of our actions.
