Our presence on the ground allows it to respond quickly and efficiently to emergencies, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most. CHALLENGES
Gaza is in the middle of its worst humanitarian crisis since the conflict between Palestine and Israel began in 1948. The current violent Israeli offensive against the people of Gaza is further upending millions of lives. The massacres committed by the Israeli army and bombing civilian infrastructure intentionally block peoples’ abilities to safely access basic necessities, threatening lives, and displacing families in Gaza, Rafah. 1.7 million Palestinians, nearly 75% of the population, are internally displaced so far, as 3.3 million people in need of humanitarian assistance across Gaza and the West Bank.
100% of Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing hunger, while they need urgent medical and psychological care.
Urgent support is required for the survival of millions of people, including women and children, in Palestine.
SOLUTION
All donations to this fund will support emergency relief operations in Gaza and the internally displaced people by the Israeli offensive. Since Dünya Doktorları/Médecins du Monde has been actively on the ground to provide healthcare and psychological support services since the beginning of the offensive, the fund will initially help us address the affected people’s immediate needs, such as access to healthcare, medicine, psychosocial support, hygiene, and food. The fund will later transition to focus support on longer-term recovery efforts in coordination with The Palestine Red Crescent Society and Turkish Red Crescent.
HOW YOUR DONATION WILL BE USED?
- Provide medical care, including health consultations, maternal and child health, reproductive health, mental health and psychosocial support, and critical medical supplies to families in crisis-affected communities in Rafah, Gaza
- Delivering hygiene kits for displaced people in the region
- Providing food support for the people of Gaza who have been suffering from a famine due to the Israeli offensive
- Meet other needs as they emerge
