HATAY ECOLOGICAL SCHOOL PROJECT
Dünya Doktorları, together with Spanish, French, and Turkish companies, is coming together to create reference schools for education in Turkey after the devastating earthquake.
Reference education environment for children affected by the earthquake in Turkey
Our project includes the construction of two reference education centers on two plots of land measuring 8,000 and 10,000 square meters. These centers will be built using climate-friendly, local, sustainable, and innovative materials that also support the local economy of a developing industry.
The first school will be located on a 10,000-square-meter plot and will host 600 children in early childhood, primary, and secondary education. The project is being carried out by Turkish architects Dr. Erdem and Ekin Güven, based on a technically superior, durable, earthquake-resistant, and sustainable structure that ensures safety in the construction of new buildings.
The second school will be located on an 8,000-square-meter plot and is planned to provide education to a total of 480 children.
Collaborating with industry to ensure uninterrupted education
In this context, various companies aware of the importance of the private sector in global development projects aim to establish two reference education centers in collaboration with World Doctors, Spanish, French, and Turkish institutions, through a public-private partnership. This project also seeks to create economic and social impact while preserving the history of the city of Antakya.
We aim to minimize housing, education, health, employment, and environmental risks by promoting systemic changes that enhance resilience to disaster risks. This requires the implementation and cooperation of all stakeholders (citizens, governments, public institutions, NGOs, professional organizations, academia, and the private sector). The focus is on both infrastructure sectors (drinking water and sanitation, municipal services, energy, transportation, and communication) and economic sectors (agriculture, mining, industry, manufacturing, and tourism).
